The Tiber Valley cuts through southern Umbria in a broad sweep of wooded hillsides, olive groves, and medieval villages perched above the river. Acqualoreto is one of them—a small, ancient borgo set on a hilltop, with views across the surrounding countryside.
This lovely stone farmhouse of around 3,200 square feet sits just minutes from the village center, on around five acres of land. The ground floor has a living area with a fireplace, a kitchen, and a bathroom. Upstairs are four bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a terrace with panoramic views across the valley. A further terrace outside is set up for outdoor dining, with a wood-fired oven and a barbecue. Outside, there’s a saltwater pool and a double garage.
Orvieto, one of Umbria’s most dramatic hilltop cities, is fifteen minutes by road. Orte, with rail connections to Rome, is around forty minutes south. Rome itself, with its international airport and connections worldwide, is around an hour and a half away.
