Crete is the largest of the Greek islands and one of the most varied—mountains that hold snow into spring, gorges that run down to the sea, and a northern coast of pebbly coves and fishing villages. Milatos sits on that coast: whitewashed houses above a small harbor, with limestone hills and olive groves rising behind.
This two-bedroom house sits directly in front of the beach. An external staircase leads up to a terrace with open sea views and the main entrance. Inside, the ground floor has an open-plan kitchen and living area and a rear balcony looking inland. Upstairs, two double bedrooms each have their own balcony—one facing the sea, one facing the hills.
Agios Nikolaos, a town with shops, restaurants, and services, is around 15 miles east. Heraklion, with an international airport, is around 35 minutes by road.
