The hamlet of Monterivoso sits in the Valnerina valley of southern Umbria, where the Nera River winds through wooded hills and medieval stone villages cling to weathered hillsides.
The valley offers hiking trails, rock climbing sites, and access to the Cascata delle Marmore, Europe’s tallest man-made waterfall, created by the Romans in 271 BC. The Abbey of San Pietro in Valle, a Benedictine monastery dating to the 8th century, stands one mile away.
