Along Sweden’s eastern coast, the land breaks apart into thousands of granite islands and skerries rising from the Baltic—pine-covered, wind-shaped, threaded by still channels of clear water. This is the Swedish archipelago north of Stockholm—where the summer light lasts almost all night and the forests run right down to the water’s edge.
This waterside cottage sits in a south-facing plot with its own private jetty. Built across 860 square feet, the house has a kitchen with a wood-burning stove, a living room with an open fireplace, a dining room that faces the sea, one bedroom, and a tiled shower room with underfloor heating. A separate guesthouse and an additional cabin provide space for visitors.
By boat or bicycle, a traditional fishing village with a well-regarded restaurant is a short trip away. The town of Söderhamn, with shops, restaurants, and services, is accessible by road. Stockholm Arlanda Airport is around two hours by car.
