If you travel far enough south, you discover a corner of the New World that looks and feels different…grand old buildings…vineyard country that rolls on forever…prices that stop you in your tracks.
This is “the other America.” And it might be poised to boom…I’m talking about Argentina, which might finally be turning a corner. If so, the real estate opportunities will be incredible. That’s why I’ve just talked to one of my go-to insiders, Joel Bowman.
Joel is a writer and longtime resident of Buenos Aires. We first met around two decades ago when he was the managing editor at The Daily Reckoning with Bill Bonner. (Bill is a longtime friend and the founding publisher of International Living.)
Today, Joel writes Notes From the End of the World on Substack, offering three mailings weekly from the frontlines in Buenos Aires plus his random wanderings around various other Ends of the World. It’s an exceptional read and I highly recommend you check it out. You can sign up here.
Recently, I called Joel for the first of my “Insider Conversations,” a new series on my YouTube channel where I tap my extensive network of contacts for deep-dive conversations on important topics.
In a wide-ranging discussion, Joel and I dove into the latest news from Argentina including a big new development that supports its recent turnaround and could point to huge opportunities ahead. Click below to view…
I recently recorded a call with one of my Argentina contacts Joel Bowman where we chatted about the reforms by the country’s president, Javier Milei, and whether crisis is turning to opportunity.
Insider Conversations like this are a new feature of my YouTube channel. I intend them to serve as an incubator for ideas…a space for us to reflect and explore all the facets of compelling new real estate ideas and opportunities.
These are longform conversations. You’ll want to carve out a little time. They’re the perfect companion for your morning commute or evening stroll.
In today’s Insider Conversation, Joel and I dug into many aspects of Argentina’s recent resurgence, including…
- How we’re entering a phase where stability and smooth governance could open up lines of credit and release Argentina’s pent-up potential…
- How strategic partnership with the U.S. bodes well for Argentina’s revival…
- Why if the country’s disruptive president, Javier Milei, can deliver even a fraction of Argentina’s potential, we could be looking at a multi-generational growth story…
- What a returning Argentine diaspora means for real estate prices…
And when you’re done watching, share your thoughts and questions in the YouTube comments below the video.
- Do you see a genuine turnaround taking shape—or another false dawn?
- Would you live part- or full-time in Buenos Aires if things continue improving?
- What part of Argentina’s real estate market intrigues you most?
Share your thoughts. I read them all, and I’m replying in the comments right now (the video has just gone live).
Wishing you good real estate investing,
P.S. RETA Lifetime members who are coming to our next club meetup, The Gathering XII in Panama, you’ll have a chance to hear from Joel in person and ask him any questions you might have.
And don’t forget to check out Joel’s Notes From the End of the World on Substack. It’s a brilliant read.
