VIDEO: Portugal’s Hidden Atlantic Town

There’s a coastal city in Portugal that most international buyers haven’t yet discovered.

A place where mountains, river, and ocean all converge.

It’s not a resort but a small, character-filled city that’s walkable, livable, and historic.

It has a charming Old Town…long Atlantic beaches…vast riverfront parks and public spaces. And it sits just 45 minutes from Porto’s international airport.

Yet real estate prices here are just a fraction of what you’d pay in Porto and other major cities. Best of all, there’s still time to get in ahead of the crowd…

I’ve just released my video deep-dive on this destination in the new episode of The Ronan McMahon Report.

Click below to watch it now. And when you’re done, share your thoughts or questions in the comments. My team and I read them all.

In this new destination deep-dive on my YouTube channel, I take you to a small coastal city that’s quietly gentrifying, but which remains virtually unknown to the millions of foreign tourists, expats, and second home owners who flock to Portugal each year. Click to view…

The place is Viana do Castelo.

This is the most northerly coastal city in Portugal. It sits where the River Lima enters the Atlantic Ocean.

Though “city” is perhaps a generous way to describe it. The wider metropolitan area, encompassing nearby commuter towns, has a population of less than 90,000. Within Viana itself, there are just 36,000 people.

This helps explain its charming small-town atmosphere.

Viana was once a hard-working industrial city known for shipbuilding and fishing. But over the past two and a half decades, the city has been quietly gentrifying.

Now, it’s drawing more international tourists and real estate investors.

On the outskirts of town, along the riverbank, new waterfront condo developments have been popping up. These are vast homes, with price tags there can run well over a million euros. But you don’t have to spend anything like that to own here.

Watch my new video to learn:

  • What Viana offers compared to Porto and Lisbon…and how this city is transforming…
  • From compact €255,000 Old-Town apartments to detached villas spanning 6,000 square feet—what it costs to own here today…
  • How I expect occupancy, nightly rates, and rental yields to change as awareness grows about Viana…

It’s all in my new video.
