The Valnerina is a deep valley carved by the river Nera, winding through wooded gorges and hilltop villages in the heart of Umbria. At its center is the Marmore Falls—a 540-foot cascade engineered by the Romans in 271 BC and later described by Lord Byron as “horribly beautiful.”
Collestatte sits on a hill directly above the falls, looking out across the valley.
