This week, I’ve been telling you about one of the most compelling beachfront communities on my global beat…
Playa Caracol is a master-planned town set right on the nicest, closest beach to booming Panama City. The setting is spectacular—a sweep of pristine Pacific coastline…wide, open, and stretching for miles…with the stunning Cerro Chame mountains as a backdrop.
The sand is soft underfoot. The water warm. The air fresh and scented with salt. It’s the kind of place that invites you to slow down…to walk…to stay longer than you planned.

The Pacific beach at Playa Caracol is the nicest, closest stretch of sand to Panama City—less than 90 minutes away.
A little over a decade ago, there was nothing there but raw coastline. Visit today and you’ll find a thriving beachfront community…
Around 700 condos and homes have already been delivered. There are beach clubs, surf schools, stores, and restaurants. The Radisson Riviera hotel is open. A Margaritaville resort—Panama’s first—is rising on the sand. And two more international hotel brands are in talks to open here too.
What’s been achieved here is remarkable.
And on Wednesday, I’m opening an exclusive new deal for members of my Real Estate Trend Alert (RETA) group in Playa Caracol. It’s a chance to own ocean-view condos steps from the sand for under $300,000! I expect gains of $181,100 five years after delivery.
Perhaps the best way to understand deals like this and what’s going on in Playa Caracol is through the people who have bought in them and experienced this destination.
So today, I want to share real stories. We’ll hear from a member of my concierge team who spent a year enjoying a base in Playa Caracol. But let’s start with a RETA member who took retirement there at the age of 57…

Inspired by the world’s greatest beach and surf towns, developer Alfredo Aleman and his team have created a unique true beachfront community in Playa Caracol. Read my scout Alan Gorevan’s take on it here.
Meet the RETA Member Who Retired to the Beach Before 60
A few years ago, RETA member, Pam Trezevant, set herself a goal: To retire earlier than her mother had.
She succeeded—leaving corporate America just before turning 58. Then she set about building a new life where she divides her time between a beachfront condo and a vibrant capital city. She’s now achieved this goal in Panama.
A few years ago, she bought in an off-market RETA deal in Playa Caracol, where she was impressed by the beauty of the setting and by the master plan for the community.
She hasn’t looked back.
Today, her mornings begin with quiet walks along miles of Pacific sand. Her afternoons might be spent in Panama City, surrounded by friends she now calls family.
Pam’s story exemplifies why Playa Caracol is so special. The chance to live the beach lifestyle so close a cosmopolitan capital of the caliber of Panama City is rare.
And when you buy at off-market, RETA-only pricing, it’s simply unbeatable.

For Pam Trezevant, retiring young and splitting her time between Playa Caracol and booming Panama City is a “best of both worlds” situation that suits her perfectly. Read her account of that life here.
Why Moving to Playa Caracol was Transformational
Many of us dream about living on the beach.
Very few actually experience what it’s like…to step out your front door and be in the ocean in under a minute.
One of my team, David Hinton, did exactly that—spending a year living in Playa Caracol.
And he found it transformational.
Here, David shares the reality of his beach lifestyle…the rhythms of daily life…and why this kind of beachfront living is so special.
It’s a glimpse of a life most people assume is out of reach. But David achieved it…
Learn how it played out for him here.

Things to Do in and Around Panama’s Best Beach Town
As we’ve seen from Pam and David’s accounts, Playa Caracol isn’t just somewhere you come to sit on the sand.
It’s somewhere you come to live.
You might start your morning paddling out into warm Pacific waves for a surf lesson…or head offshore and find yourself watching humpback whales breach just minutes from the beach.
Then you come back in…grab a drink at a beach club…and watch the sun drop over the ocean.
And what strikes me most is this: there’s always something to do here.
In yesterday’s dispatch, I revealed why Playa Caracol is becoming far more than just a beach escape—and what life here can really look like day to day.

Your Questions Answered
Have a comment for me or my team? A question about owning overseas? Share it here. I’d love to hear from you. Here’s a question I got from a reader recently…
Mark T. asks: Ronan, how realistic is it to live full-time in Playa Caracol? Is it too remote?
Ronan says: Hi Mark. Not at all. One of the reasons I love Playa Caracol is its proximity to Panama City—you’re 60 to 90 minutes from a major, international capital with world-class healthcare, dining, and infrastructure.
And with improvements to infrastructure between Playa Caracol and the city, that journey could be reduced to about 40 minutes.
Plus, there’s so much to do around Playa Caracol. Here you get the beach lifestyle…without giving up access to everything you need.
Playa Caracol has so many amenities now. Stores, surf shops, restaurants, a Radisson hotel welcoming guests and two more on the way…a Margaritaville under construction…and developer Alfredo Aleman has big plans for the future, including a retail village and a water park.
It’s incredible what has been achieved here and what lies ahead is just as exciting.
I’m so excited to bring RETA members our new deal here…a chance to own ocean-view condos, steps from the sand, for under $300,000! And I figure on gains of $181,100 five years after delivery.
You need to get ready. The deal opens this Wednesday, April 1, at 1 p.m. ET
Wishing you good real estate investing,
