For around a decade, I’ve been scouting a stunning coastal city in Baja California Sur.
A destination with swimmable turquoise waters…a three-mile malecón lined with cafés and restaurants…and the same desert-meets-ocean grandeur as Cabo—but with dramatically lower real estate prices.
For years, this place was hard to get to.
But the city’s airport now has new international flights and access is no longer a constraint.
The place I’m talking about is La Paz—and I believe it may be Baja’s next breakout market.

Baja is a market I know well.
I spend winters in Cabo and have been investing there for more than a decade. In fact, I own more real estate in Cabo than anywhere else in the world.
And whenever I’m there, I make a point of scouting the nearby towns and cities. Because when a market booms the way Cabo has over the last decade, I ask myself one question: Where will the opportunity go next?
In Baja California Sur, the answer is La Paz. It’s different to Cabo. More understated. More local. More livable.
