VIDEO: Panama Residency and My Bigger Plan

Greetings from Panama City…

As this hits your mailbox, I’m flying to Uruguay for the next leg of my scouting trip.

But first, a quick update on how Panama fits into my wider strategy…

For years, I’ve been internationalizing my life—finding the places that work best for my money, how I want to live, and where I want to spend my time.

Panama is an important part of that. And on this trip, I’ve been taking care of some practical details.

On Thursday, I visited my new bank. I’ve also set up a Panama corporation to hold some of my real estate and other investments.

Then it was time to renew my cédula, my Panamanian permanent resident card.

I was told the appointment would take 20 to 30 minutes. Nine minutes after walking through the door, I was back outside.

The biggest complications? My white shirt…and my hair.

Join me outside Panama’s Tribunal Electoral before and after my appointment to renew my residency card.

Wishing you a good real estate investing,

P.S. A Panama City base puts some extraordinary escapes within easy reach. Over the weekend in the town of El Valle de Antón, I hiked through lush hills with views toward the Pacific, enjoyed a world-class spa, and slept with the air conditioning off in the cool mountain air. Add Pacific beaches and island getaways, and you can see why Panama’s appeal goes well beyond the city skyline.
