Dear Reader,
By the time you read this, I’ll be back in Europe, spending a few days in Amsterdam and reflecting on my Uruguay scouting trip.
One prospect in particular has stayed with me…
Owning a home right on the beach.
I came to Uruguay to investigate opportunities near Punta del Este, the country’s premier beach resort.
My thesis was that this summer playground for wealthy Argentines and Brazilians is transforming into a year-round international luxury destination. And what I saw backs that up.
But scouting farther along the coast brought me somewhere I’d like a beach home of my own…
La Pedrera is a small town in the Rocha department, about an hour and 45 minutes from Punta del Este.
Here, wooden boardwalks lead from homes straight onto the sand. Beyond them, wild Atlantic beaches stretch toward Brazil. And you can still buy right on the beach.
I recorded a video to show you what I saw—and explain why I’m interested.
Wishing you a good real estate investing,
P.S. You’ll hear me talking about the “Path of Progress.” By that I mean anything that makes a place easier to get to or more desirable. Transformations like that create real estate fortunes. In recent decades as Punta became busier, the wealthy began looking for space and privacy—and found it in the coastal towns to the east. Learn more in my new video.
