Tomorrow, I’m heading to Panama City. And after that, it’s on to Uruguay to run the rule over a potential real estate opportunity.
Putting boots on the ground is how I find opportunities to grow wealth, generate rental income, and own in places where I want to spend time myself.
Which brings me to the stretch of Portugal’s coast I chose for myself back in 2020…
I was looking for beachfront living…top-class golf…a temperate climate…and easy access to a major city and international airport.
I found it all about an hour north of Lisbon.
I paid €300,000 for a two-bed oceanfront condo. Recently, an identical property came on the market for €525,000.
But I didn’t buy here purely for the investment. This coast offered the space, uncrowded beaches, and relaxed Portuguese lifestyle I was looking for.

The destination I’m talking about is Portugal’s Silver Coast.
Here, you’ll find medieval towns like Óbidos…fishing ports like Peniche…and established beach and golf communities within easy reach of the capital.
It’s cooler, quieter, and less developed than the Algarve.
Prices have risen. Some new homes look expensive to me. But older resale properties can offer more space and better positions—including oceanfront locations that could never be replicated under today’s planning rules.
