There’s a city in Mexico where grand colonial mansions line elegant boulevards…
Families gather in leafy plazas long after sunset…
And museums, art galleries, and award-winning restaurants fill one of the largest historic centers in the Americas.
For decades, this city has been a quiet favorite of expats. Historic, livable, and walkable. But it never fully broke out.
Now, that may be changing. Visitor numbers are at record highs. Money is flowing into infrastructure. And it’s growing in importance as a business hub.
Yet right now, you can still buy restored colonial homes here for under $300,000.
I’ve just released my video deep-dive on this remarkable destination in the new episode of The Ronan McMahon Report.

In this new deep-dive on my YouTube channel, I take you to a clean and leafy Mexican city where colonial mansions line elegant boulevards. Click to view…
I’m talking about Mérida, on Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula.
A century ago, this was once one of the richest cities in the Americas. Its wealth came from henequen—or “green gold”—which was used to make rope exported all over the world.
At the turn of the 20th century, Mérida reportedly had more millionaires per capita than any other city.
That wealth shaped the city you see today.
I’ve been scouting Mérida for years.
And I’ve watched it evolve from a beautiful colonial city into an increasingly important center for business, tourism, and culture.
Now visitor numbers are breaking records and hundreds of millions of dollars are being invested into new infrastructure.
More people are moving here. And demand for property is rising alongside it. But prices haven’t fully caught up to the reality of where this city is going.
Watch my new video to learn:
- Why I believe Mérida is entering a new phase of growth as investment, tourism, and business activity accelerate…
- The type of real estate I’d target here today—and why restored colonial homes in the historic center remain my favorite play…
- What it actually costs to own in Mérida today, from renovation projects to beautifully restored homes ready to move into…
It’s all in my new video.
Wishing you good real estate investing,
