Last month, I scouted a little-known capital city that’s been attracting growing attention from real estate insiders.
This is a place with low taxes, a hugely affordable cost of living, and top-end luxury real estate from around $200 per square foot—pricing you simply won’t find in any other capital city like this.
Add in walkable neighborhoods…a solid short-term rental market that yields 7% to 8%…and a growing economy with robust demographics and pro-business policies—and this is a place that demands attention.
That destination is Asunción, the capital of Paraguay.
Earlier this month, I shared a video with members of my Real Estate Trend Alert (RETA) group, where I sat down with RETA Editorial Director Ciaran Madden to discuss what I saw on the ground in Asunción and why this city holds huge potential.
Now, I’ve posted the video to my YouTube channel. Click below to view. Then join me in the comments where I’m answering your questions…
In this video, I share the key takeaways from my recent scouting trip to Paraguay’s booming capital, Asunción.
In my new video, I explain…
- Why Asunción has been drawing a growing number of digital nomads of late
- How Paraguay’s demographics left me feeling like the oldest person in every room
- Why a play here would be a medium- to long-term bet on a capital city—and a country—that appear to be entering a new phase of growth
- How Paraguay’s surplus of food, water, and energy position it for the future
And when you’re done watching the video, I want to hear from you…
Drop your thoughts, ideas and suggestions in the YouTube comments—I read them all, and I’ll be replying to any questions.

If you’d like more on Paraguay, you can watch my conversation with longtime RETA member Kurt Hoppe, an international investor who has been putting boots on the ground there. Don’t forget to leave a comment. I’d love to hear your thoughts.
Here’s a comment I got on a recent video where I sat down to talk with elite developer Alfredo Aleman about the future of Panama City.
